ASME Flanges

ANSI B16.5 Class 150 Flange standard covers Steel Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings that are constructed between sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 Metric/Inch. The pressure rating class for the ANSI B16.5 starts from class 150 to class 2500. A drawback of using the ANSI B16.5 specification is that the standard only covers sizes up to 24 inches.

ASME B16.5 standard covers Steel Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings from NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 Metric/Inch in pressure class 150 to class 2500. ASME B16.47 Series A flanges are more expensive than ASME B16 47 Series B flanges. Two very important flanges such as weld neck flange and blind flanges are very commonly used in piping systems.
